MATERIAL & STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE
The longevity and superior quality of Kömmerling-owned material compound, Komalit-z has been conclusively proven for over 30 years. The material compound meets worldwide standards for strength, durability, heat stability, colour retention and termite resistance. Komalit-z in fact significantly exceeds the stringent requirements of the highest classification of DIN standard 77498 for impact resistance.
MAXIMUM WIND RESISTANCE
Winsta uPVC windows and doors are ideal for buildings close to the sea where they are permanently exposed to strong winds, heavy rain and salty air. All window types are capable of withstanding the tests specified in BS 5368, Part 3 1978 (wind resistance test up to a wind pressure of 2400 PA).
MAXIMUM WATER TIGHTNESS
It has also been successfully used in swimming pools, marine and ocean environments without detriment to the surface finish performance. Winsta uPVC windows and doors with KÖMMERLING U-PVC profiles fulfil the demands of DIN 18055 (resistance to driving rain). All window types are designed to be water tight when tested up to 300 PA limit specified in BS 6375. Performance of Windows Part 1, 1989. Classification for weather tightness. Some types achieve a 600 PA Rating.
DESIGNED FOR TROPICAL CLIMATE
The highly developed KÖMMERLING material compound Komalit-z is considered to be a very high impact resistance material specially made for tropical climate. It is also known to perform the worldwide standards for strength, durability, heat stability, colour retention and termite resistance.
Winsta uPVC windows and doors with KÖMMERLING profile systems offer considerable fire protection. It does not support combustion and are in fact self-extinguishing. The special profile compound possesses a fire retardant rating according to DIN 4102. It also fulfils Class 1 fire resistance as defined in BS (British Standards) 476: Part 7.
EFFICIENT THERMAL INSULATION
As the design of the KÖMMERLING systems prevent thermal bridging, the thermal insulating performance of Winsta uPVC windows and doors is exceptionally good. The KÖMMERLING profiles passed the test for Class 1 according to DIN 4108 (thermal conductivity of window materials) thus fulfilling the highest demands on thermal insulation.
HIGH ACOUSTIC INSULATION
Sound insulation in the KÖMMERLING design profile is inherently good. It is further enhanced by fitting steel reinforcement and by choosing the appropriate glass. Winsta windows and doors come up to the German DIN Standard for sound insulation Class 5 (high acoustic insulation DIN 4109).
PROTECTION AGAINST BURGLARY
Winsta uPVC windows and doors fitted with standard thickness reinforcement offer the best solution for increased safety. Special fittings and glazing, qualified window fabrication and expert installation make the window worthy of being called "burglar-proof".
Only KÖMMERLING has been able to perfectly produce profiles using calcium/zinc-based stabilizer. Laboratory tests show that profiles using calcium/zinc-based stabilizers are far more superior and more environmentally friendly than lead stabilizers.
LONG LIFE & MAINTENANCE FREE
Winsta uPVC windows and doors do not involve any future maintenance costs and it practically lasts forever. It does not require regular repainting and expensive maintenance. They do not rot and corrode even in tropical and salty coastal climates.
